Master of Finance


Program Description

The primary objective of the Master of Finance is to provide you with the essential financial acumen to impact and lead the financial service industry. The Master of Finance program has two concentrations: Financial Technology (FinTech) and Corporate Finance. The FinTech graduates will learn how to design and advocate for financial solutions using the latest emerging technologies. The Corporate Finance graduates will be trained to become professionals in understanding, translating and presenting complex financial instruments to clients; and become Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

In addition to cover emerging technology such as data analytics, artificial intelligence and blockchain, the Master of Finance program will provide in-depth exposure to the principles and practices of finance and investment management. The program will equip you with the know-how to work as an intern and an employee within fintech, investment banking, private equity, corporate banking or financial advisory services. The main objective of the program is to provide the specialized knowledge needed to add immediate value to your organization as a technology-driven transformer, financial manager or investment adviser.

The program is open to both business and non-business undergraduates and equips you with tools, ideas and frameworks to excel in early-stage finance jobs. Our highly applied program allows you to find solutions to real-world finance challenges through lectures delivered by highly regarded practitioners, programming workshops, and mandatory internship.


Program Outcome

The purpose of the Master of Finance program is to develop students for work in a sector of the finance profession. Key learnings include how to harness the emerging technologies, assess acquisitions, manage cash flows or risks, and raise capital in financial markets. You can further specialize your expertise by opting for one of the two concentrations: FinTech and Corporate Finance. A Master of Finance graduate can expect to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Make key financial management decisions in an international environment
  • Conduct in depth financial analysis and credit analysis of companies
  • Perform complex financial modeling and analysis for corporate finance decisions and restructurings for Corporate Finance concentration
  • Master the emerging technologies and apply to solve finance problems for FinTech concentration

You will be able to apply, with confidence, for fintech positions, buy-side or sale-side research roles, or other professional roles in the financial industry.

Program Requirements

Required Credit Hours: total of 36 with 30 in courses, and 6 in internship project.

After successful completion of the core finance courses in the first half of the program, students will continue their studies in one of the following two concentrations: Fintech and Corporate Finance, while pursuing an internship in the industries.
