Background

GSAS believes in “tough love” when it comes to education --- you should be able to enhance your knowledge and employability only if you aspire to a better self through hardworking. We do not put as much weight as in your undergraduate college reputation or your score as other universities in Hong Kong when we value your application, we want to see a positive trajectory in your learning, and we want you to devote yourself to study and achieve all “A”s at GSAS.

The Award

This scholarship is equivalent to 50% of a degree program tuition, and will be awarded to a student who will be starting to enroll in the degree program for the first time. The scholarship is “back-loaded”, and will be disbursed once you have satisfied the graduation requirements with the required grades. If your GPA is at or above 3.75, but below 4, the scholarship will be reduced to 25% of the degree tuition; if your GPA ends up below 3.75, the scholarship will be forfeited. Accomplished students will receive an award certificate and will be publicized at GSAS website as well.

Requirements

1. Student will need to demonstrate strong self-discipline and motivation to study at GSAS.
2. Student will need to achieve “A” grades (accumulated GPA of 4.0) in for-credit courses in a degree program.
3. Submit an autobiography with an honest assessment of your strength and weakness, and a devoted plan of study at GSAS.
